News+Gameplay

The term “Newsgames” or “Newsgaming” was coined by Gonzalo Frasca after he created the controversial game September 12th, a response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the US.  Newsgames are an important addition to journalism.  These simulations or games allow users to get down to ground level or to get inside a situation like no other.  It’s one thing to pontificate an opinion and another to actually execute actions to affect change.  News Gameplay is an interactive blog dedicated to covering the news through simulation, immersion, interaction, or more simply put, gameplay. Stay tuned…
